History of Contemporary Architecture

Contemporary Architecture History programs usually deal with critical analysis of capital topics of architectural debate and with the most significant works of the period from 1945 up today. This period correspond to the crisis of the Modern Movement and the diffusion of heterogeneous addresses of postmodern culture. The educational goal of teaching is to make students aware – through critical analysis of ideas, events and works – of the process of development of architectural culture that offered, and is still offering, the terms of the ongoing disciplinary debate. The aim of the teaching is to propose them an orientation on the different research addresses to stimulate a conscious definition of their own design orientation. The Professors will develop this training program on the base of their own personal approach to architectural history and teaching methods.
