Construction and Sustainability Design Studio

The objectives of the Laboratory are: to experiment the complexity of the design act, from conception to implementation, acquiring knowledge about the methods of controlling the relationships between technological, energy-environmental, structural aspects and the paths of experimentation and innovation of techniques; illustrate the cognitive, methodological, organizational and procedural tools in the different phases of the building process aimed at the feasibility and constructability of complex architectural interventions of new construction or redevelopment with particular attention to functional, construction and environmental choices in relation to energy and plant design from early stages of the project. The expected learning outcomes are: design processing skills attentive to the constructive dimension, to the constraints of the environmental, physical, regulatory and cultural context; coordinated and interdisciplinary management of the technological, energy-environmental and structural themes of the project, on the basis of priority requirements, anticipation of decisions and evaluation of the different technical options available and the application of support tools for project decisions.
