Urban Design Studio

The Laboratory explores the fields of action of the urban project within the current contexts, characterized by a socio-economic transition that poses new questions to technical knowledge and its tradition. In the laboratory, therefore, new forms of urban planning are experimented, useful for facing the emerging problems of contemporary territories; problematic representations of situations are constructed, in parallel with the definition of alternative design arguments; the relationship between the spatial transformation of landscapes and the regulatory dimension of the urban project is tested. Finally, the Laboratory looks carefully at the crucial issues of the identity of contexts in a period in which it is necessary to imagine new life cycles for existing settlement structures, in a perspective of prudent and sustainable development.
